Macross Plus

Macross Plus takes place many years after the original show, it is now the year 2045 on Eden to pilots who once were friends meet up again. They are now enemies, the main characters are Isamu a wreakless pilot who has just been assigned to New Eden in order to test pilot the Vf-19. Then there is Guld who is a zentradi who apparently hates Isamu for many reasons on of these being over the third main character Myung. Guld pilots the rival plane the Vf-21 basically the competition is to see which plane would be better for the RDF unfortunately both pilots take their personal business into the test flight and practically kill each other. To make matters worse Myung the third main character in the show has just arrived back on New Eden as a producer to Sharon Apple a virtual singer. So the two pilots begin to fight over her and certain secrets are revealed to us but I won't spoil it. Eventually Guld and Isamu find out that instead of being Sharon's producer she actually is the voice. But with this news comes more trouble for the pilots as the Captain decides to scrap the veritech project to go with a new unmanned veritech the Ghost X 19. So Ismau being the stubborn fool he is decides to crash the unvailing ceremony of the X 19. So he runs off Guld chases after him in order to stop him and as for Myung she is no longer need to do the singing or as they called it thinking for Sharon as the creator has put an illegal chip inside her cpu network. This is a bad move as Sharon gets out of control enslaving the people at the ceremony. Ismau and Guld have a great veritech battle in which they eventually become friends again. That's when the final battle breaks down as the X 19 decides to break up Isamu and Guld.

Guld stays to do battle with the X 19 as Ismau looks for a way to save Myung who is Sharon's prisoner. Guld dies in a horrible way but all is not in vain as the Ghost X 19 is destroyed and Isamu is left to do battle with Sharon alone who wins this battle Sharon or Ismau. Does Myung get save and do the people return to normal well I'm not going to say so even though I know I want you to see this show for your self so out of a possible 10 I give Macross Plus a nine because it does not really tell you what happened to the orignal characters.

There are two ways to watch Macross Plus the 4 part set or a movie version. I've seen both and recommend that you get the 4 part set because they cut out lots of parts in the movie version. DVD is probably the best to see it on cause it gives both but anyway the 4 part is the best way to get it and is available for about $19.99 a tape but I can tell you where to get it for less.
