Tenchi Universe

Tenchi Universe is the second of three tenchi series. For those who have no idea what the first tenchi series was about refer to my review on Tenchi Muyo. Tenchi Universe is basically a parallel universe different from the first series in many ways. The first major difference is that all the former characters like Ryoko, Mihiosi, Sasami, Ayeka, and Washu all land on earth and meet tenchi in a different way from Muyo. Another Major difference is the addition of an extra character to the series her name Kiyone. Basically Kiyone is Mihiosi's partner from the Galaxy Police. Basically the first six episodes in Universe discuss how Tenchi meets each of the six women. After that basically the group have a couple of adventures not much to be amazed by. But after about episode 10 the show starts to pickup and the real problems begin when the galaxy police start to hunt down Ayeka and the others for treason.

So the rest of the episodes are spent on the group running from the Juria police and trying to uncover the master mind behind the plan to overthrow Ayeka and Sasami. Eventually the series comes to the ultimate climax when it is revealed that the mastermind behind the trouble is none other than an infamous Kagato. The main villain from Tenchi Muyo. The only difference with Kagato is that instead of being a demon he is a Jurian and a former friend of Yosho. Thus it is none other than the second to last episode when Tenchi defeats Kagato and realizes his true power. Probably the best thing I like about Universe is that unlike the ending to Muyo which left many issues unresolved Universe resolves and ends every plot it had.

But the bigger shot is that it seems like Tenchi picks Ryoko as his love interested in the end. However keep in mind that this is my interpretation of the last scene it may be different for you. Thus if I had to pick out of the Tenchi Trilogy the best series I would say that it is Tenchi In Universe.
