Episode 8. Raven

At night, a single Godos destroys an entire base with the help of a black Organoid. Raven jumps out of the cockpit and walks away, though it's apparent that he's "not quite with it". In the morning, Van and Fiona arrive at the destroyed base and look around. They find a guy who is trapped in the wreckage and he says that there was a black Organoid. Van starts to think that Raven is back.

Thomas goes to a base because Van called for his help. They discuss the situation over tea. The bases have been destoryed in a pattern, heading east. The next base that would be destroyed if the pattern continues is the one they are at. Fiona tells Thomas not to underestimate Raven. Later, Van and Thomas talk about Raven.

Raven walks across a desert and is picked up by a guy, who doesn't know who Raven is, in a Gustav. He's still "not quite with it" so he doesn't say a word, just drinking a lot of water and falling asleep. That night, the guy cooks dinner for Raven and him. Raven drinks his drink even though it's burning hot. Hiltz and Riece watch him and wonder when he will awaken. Raven suddenly stands up and looks into the distance. The guy spots Shadow on a cliff near then looking in the same direction as Raven, and wants to get out of there. A Redler flies towards them and scans the Gustav to make sure that it's not carrying a Zoid. It's about to leave when Shadow flies up and causes it to crash. Raven walks towards the crashed Redler while the guy wonders what's going on.

Later, the base where Van and Thomas are detects a Redler flying towards them. Iron Kongs shoot at it but don't stop it. The Redler flies into the base and Van and Thomas see that it doesn't have a pilot. The Redler crashes into the base and Shadow flies out of the Zoid. Van and Thomas run deeper into the base because they figured out that the Redler was a decoy. Raven is in the base, and he's getting into a Dark Horn. Van and Thomas find him and know for sure now that Raven is back.

Raven shoots at Van and Thomas, and Thomas tries to attack Raven, but is knocked down. Van attacks next but Raven makes the Dark Horn jump over the Liger. Van doesn't know where Raven went, and Raven shoots some Iron Kongs that have just arrived. Then he turns around to fight Van again. Thomas gets up and helps Van, and together they manage to knock off one of the Dark Horn's guns and slice off one of its legs. They think they've won, but the Dark Horn jettisons its last gun and holds it in its mouth to aim at Van and Thomas while the gun is firing. Van and Thomas don't know why Raven's doing that because he's not hitting them.

The gun runs out of ammo and Raven gets out of the Dark Horn. He looks at the Liger and Van opens the cockpit to stare back at Raven. After a moment, Raven finally snaps out of his strange trance and calls for Shadow. Shadow takes Raven out of the base, and Hiltz and Riece watch Shadow fly away. Hiltz knows that Raven has finally come to his senses, thanks to Van. Somewhere else in a huge tank, a Zoid, the Geno Saurer, is healing.

Episode 9. The Emperor's Holiday

Stinger and the two guys who pilot Hel Digunners spy on a group of Redlers. Later, Van, Fiona, and Rudolf are fishing when Thomas arrives. He doesn't recognize Rudolf until Van tells him, and then he's has to apologize to Rudolf because he roughed him up a bit. Marianne, who Rudolf will marry eventually, comes and smacks Thomas with her hat for what he did to Rudolf.

Stinger comes up with a plan to kidnap Rudolf while Marianne confronts Thomas. She says she knows that he loves Fiona and that she plans to help him tell Fiona how he feels. First, she gets Thomas to give Fiona a gift, but that goes wrong when Zeke accidentally got the gift. Thomas takes the gift away from Zeke and gives it to Fiona, but the first thing she does is show Van, leaving Thomas and Marianne frustrated. Next, Marianne has Thomas just go up to Fiona and tell her that he loves her, but he stutters a lot, and it ends up with Zeke thinking that Thomas just said that he loves him. Fiona doesn't seem to even notice what Thomas just said.

The two Hel Digunner pilots sabotage the Redlers who escorted Rudolf to the area. Zeke is still in love with Thomas, and Marianne thinks that he's a problem and removes him from the picture. Thomas once again tries to tell Fiona that he loves her, but after a lot of stuttering he finds that he can't do it. Marianne ends up tying Zeke to a tree and then goes to help Thomas when Van and Rudolf arrive. Just then the Redlers explode and Van and his friends run to find out what happened. Zeke gets caught in a net and the two Hel Digunner pilots take Rudolf.

When Van and Fiona in the Liger and Thomas in his Dibison try to find Rudolf, then find Stinger, who has tied Rudolf to a tall pole and his Zoid is backed up against a cliff. Van recognizes Stinger's girly voice and Stinger shoots at them. He wants to get revenge and opens up a blade on his Zoid and puts it right behind Rudolf, ready to kill him if they try anything. The two Hel Digunners attack Van and Thomas but they leap over their attacks. Van charges forward and slices through the the pole, leaps up onto the cliff to turn around quickly, and catched the part of the pole with Rudolf tied to it in the Liger's mouth. Then Thomas takes out the two Hel Digunners with a megalo max.

Later, more Redlers arrive to take Rudolf home and Marianne tries to tell Fiona how Thomas feels about her, but Thomas stops her. He takes her away from the others and tells her that he'll tell Fiona how he feels when he's ready, confident, and not worried about her answer. Afterwards, Thomas is in his Dibison when he meets Raven, who asks him where Van is. Thomas won't say, so Raven powers up a charged particle beam. Thomas fires a megalo max when Raven fires his beam and the two attacks meet. Raven overpowers Thomas and severely damages his Dibison, and then leaves to look for Van.

Episode 10. Assault of the Mega Monster

Moonbay finds a really damaged Dibison in the middle of the desert. Van is training for his fight with Raven because he's nervous, and Irvine shows up to help him train. Later, Irvine tells Van how he's been winning a lot of money over the years and now that he heard that Raven was back, he's decided to help Van. Irvine wants to fight Van again, but just then a huge blimp flies over them and Dr. D jumps out in a parachute. He's come to strengthen the shield of the Blade Liger to help Van withstand a charged particle beam.

Moonbay takes Thomas to the base where Van is and gets him medical care. Van's worried about Thomas, but happy to see Moonbay again. Van then goes to see how Thomas is doing. Later, he, Fiona, Irvine, Moonbay, and Dr D. figure out that the Dibison was hit by a charged particle beam, and since Thomas was muttering something about a Geno Saurer, that must mean that Raven has his old Zoid back. Dr. D plans to make the Blade Liger's shield resist charged particles just like the blades do, and they get to work on it.

Raven walks through a forest and find a lake, where he fires a charged particle beam out of anger for Van. Moonbay plans to leave, but Irvine makes her go say goodbye to the others. She finds Fiona and helps her work on the Liger's leg. In the morning, the base detects the Geno Saurer approaching and seals up. They send out Pteras units to track the Saurer, but they are shot down. Van and Irvine run out to meet Raven, and then attack him in turns so Raven has a hard time counterattacking. Dr. D finds that something is strange with the Geno Saurer's core, where Shadow is fused to the Zoid.

Finally, Raven shoots out one of the Saurer's claws and catches Irvine. He drags the Wolf in and stomps on its body. He shoots a charged particle beam, but Van counters with his improved shield. Raven fires another one and uses the Saurer's pulse laser cannons as well to break through the shield. The Liger is really damaged and Raven prepares to finish him off. He charges up another beam, but Moonbay pulls in front of Van in her Gustav. Raven fires the beam, but the Gustav's armor was thick enough to protect Van. Raven tries to go finish Van off, but he can't control his Zoid anymore. Shadow makes the Geno Saurer fly off with Raven yelling at him. Later, Van is depressed about losing the battle and all of them look at how damaged their Zoids are. Meanwhile, the Geno Saurer stops in a deserted place and Shadow takes Raven out of his Zoid. The Organoid then fuses with the Saurer again, and a pink crystal forms around the Zoid. Raven realizes that his Zoid is evolving.

Episode 11. The Wings of Darkness

Hermann and O'Connell are going to the Red River Base. They pass security and another truck comes a moment later. The driver claims to be a Republic engineer, and he gets into the base too. Then, the guy, who Karl Shubaltz trained with once to test out black Redlers, throws off the blanket used to cover him. They plan to steal two Storm Sworder Stealth types, SSS, from the base. Hiltz stands on a cliff watching.

The Blade Liger and the Command Wolf are towing Moonbay's Gustav to the Red River base. They figure that Shadow must have taken control of the Geno Saurer in their battle with Raven, but they don't know why. Fiona has a bad feeling (and we all know what that means). At the base, the two guys in the truck that snuck in order some black Redlers to drop bombs on the base. They get to the two SSS units and try to steal them, but O'Connell and Hermann stop them. Ambient helps the two guys out and they steal the SSS units. Then they join up with the black Redlers, but cut them down because they don't need them anymore. Hiltz watches them from a cliff, again.

Van and his friends get to the Red River base. They figure that the SSS units will have to come back to the base to get the command options that haven't been installed. Van thinks up a plan to stop them. Meanwhile, Riece confronts Raven, but he forces her to leave since she was going to stab him. Hiltz and the two guys who stole the SSS units talk, and then the two guys leave. Everyone at the Red River base prepares for the attack. Fiona calls for help without telling anyone. When it's almost dawn, the SSS units attack by dropping Redler bombs. Irvine and two Cannon Tortoises shoot in the general direction of the SSS units. It turns out that they were shooting paint bombs, since now one SSS unit is covered in bright, glowing, green paint.

The Blade Liger is launched from a Storm Sworder launch pad and Van uses the extra thrust to reach the SSS unit and slice through it with a blade. Van will need three minutes to get back into position. The remaining SSS unit cuts down Hermann and O'Connell, who were in Pteras units, and Moonbay is piloting the only Pteras left. She is about to be cut down when Rosso and Viola arrive to save the day. Rudolf is flying with Rosso, and Viola gets cut down. Rosso and the SSS unit get into an aerial battle. Rosso, who is guiding his Zoid with his spirit, beats the SSS unit with a skilled move. Then he leaves to find Viola. Hiltz, again, is watching from a cliff and comments that that could have gone better. Van gets back to his position and wonders what happened and where everyone went.

Episode 12. The Devil of the Sea

Planet Zi's two moons get closer together as a group of Sinkers talk about an old legend of how the land of the dead will be opened up at the bottom of the sea when the two moons become one. They say that that land is cursed, and then are shot down by a Hammerhead. Van and Fiona go to an island because Dr. D called them there. They have fun when they get there, and Van rediscovers the joy of piloting a Zoid. Later, Van and Zeke are looking for Fiona when they run into Dr. D in a cave. Fiona is confronted by Riece, who once again tries to freak her out with the usual stuff like Fiona causes suffering, is suffering, and will be the end of Planet Zi. Riece also uses her "gift", which she uses to let people see their past and future. She shows Fiona a vision of Van dying while trying to protect her, and Fiona screams.

Meanwhile, Dr. D takes Van to his lab on the island. He is looking for the ruins of the lost city of the ancient Zoidians. The ruins are in the water around the island, and when the two moons eclipse, the water will be pulled away to reveal the ruins. Tonight is the night it will happen. Then they hear Fiona scream and run to find out what happened. Fiona has figured out that Riece is suffering too, because she is also an ancient Zoidian. Then Van, Zeke, and Dr. D get there and Riece leaves. The two moons cross and the water is pulled away to reveal the ruins. A blue Double Sworder flies overhead and Van gets into his Blade Liger and shoots it down, but it was only a decoy. Specular flies out of it and goes into the water.

Van follows Specular and Riece, in a Hammerhead, knocks him into the water. She attacks him again and again, but he can't fight back because the Liger can't fight well in water. Van sees a whirlpool, and gives up hope. Then Fiona and Dr. D arrive in a Sinker and tell him that they believe in him. Van regains his hope and heads towards the whirlpool. He guides the Liger in circles around it and uses the extra thrust to shoot towards the Hammerhead. Van slices through it with his blades. He rescues Riece from drowning and demands some answers, but Specular jumps down and takes her into the water. Then a red Whale King appears with Hiltz in it saying that they've got what they need from there.

Later, Van, Fiona, Dr. D, and Zeke look at the ruins, and find a huge hole in the floor. There is a scorpian-like mark in the hole. The elcipse ends and the water then starts to cover up the ruins so they have to leave. The next day, Fiona and Van talk about how there is also hope locked in Fiona's memories, and that she thinks that he has the power to change destiny. Raven, meanwhile, laughs evilly while looking at the pink crystal his Geno Saurer is in.

Episode 13. A Monster Awakens

Raven is captured by Karl Shubaltz's troops and taken to a base. Karl wants answers from Raven, but Raven isn't taking anything seriously and plays around. Van, Fiona, and Thomas are there, and Thomas becomes angry with Raven. He threatens Raven, who teases him. Karl tells Thomas to stop because there's no way Raven can escape from the base. Van says that there's no time to waste, and they leave to go look at the cocoon of the Geno Saurer. They plan to destroy it before the new Saurer emerges, and Moonay and Irvine arrive to help out.

Van, Thomas, Fiona, Karl, Irvine, and Moonbay ask Dr. D if he has any suggestions, but he's no help at all. They call for a lot of troops, including Republican ones, so that they have enough firepower to destroy the cocoon. Van talks with Raven, who is still not taking the situation seriously. At dawn, Karl gives the order to attack and all the troops open fire at the cocoon, but they fail to even scratch it. Raven knows that they've failed without being told it, and then a little blue bug crawls into his cell. It's Riece offering help, but Raven smashes the bug without answering. Hiltz and Riece are watching the base, and Hiltz tells her to leave Raven alone because their boss has plans for him.

Later, Van and his friends figure out that the only way to destroy the new Geno Saurer is to wait until it comes out of the cocoon and then blast it. Karl and Van talk about how Hiltz, Raven, and Riece are probably connected, and how Karl thinks that Raven has all the answers. He also tells Van that Raven will be moved to Guygalos. After that, Raven is taken into a Redler, and he says that the game hasn't even begun and nothing can stop what's going to happen today. Karl is then told that the new Geno Saurer is coming out of the cocoon. All of the troops open fire at the new Geno Saurer, which will know be called the Geno Breaker, but they find out that the attack was worthless when they see the Geno Breaker with its shield up, and without a scratch on it.

Raven kicks the consol of the Redler he's in and causes it to crash. The Geno Breaker powers up its boosters and flies towards Raven. Karl orders all high-speed Zoids to follow it, along with Van, Irvine, and Thomas. The Geno Breaker causes a lot of destruction while it flies to Raven, who climbs into his Zoid when it gets to him. Irvine, Van, and Thomas get to the Geno Breaker and Irvine tries to attack it, but ends up getting his Zoid fatally damaged. Van gets shot and Raven powers up a charged particle beam and aims it at Van. Karl and his troops arrive and Raven changes his aim and destroys some of Karl's troops. Then the Geno Saurer flies away with Hiltz and Riece watching, and Van calls out to Irvine, who is unconscious in his Zoid.

Episode 14. The Black Lightning

Irvine is recovering from his injuries in bed, and nobody knows how to tell him that they can't fix his Command Wolf. Later, the Doc shows Van, Fiona, Moonbay, and Thomas the new Zoid he built, the Lightning Saix. It's a high-speed Zoid that was built with some ancient Zoidian technology that Dr. D managed to re-create. They then test the Lightning Saix in some exercises while Dr. D explains that the true extent of its abilities remain unknown because it's being powered down by a safety device, and Thomas remarks that its bare capabilities are not much different from a Command Wolf's. At the end of the test, the pilot loses consciousness and the Lightning Saix crashes into a cliff. Irvine goes to look at his Command Wolf and Van and the others find him there. He talks about everything he and his Zoid went through together, and then asks everyone to leave. Moonbay feels that Irvine will give up Zoid piloting now.

President Camford is traveling in the Presidential Hammerhead, which is then taken over by Hiltz, who shoots down all the other flying Zoids. Rudolf tells Van and the others that the Presidential Hammerhead has disappeared. Dr. D, Fiona, and Moonbay examine the damaged Lightning Saix, and Dr. D explains that the memory bank was damaged and that it will take months to reprogram it. Then, he gets the idea of using the Command Wolf's memory bank to save both of the damaged Zoids. Dr. D tells Irvine that if the Wolf's memory bank is transplanted into the Saix, then they will be able to save both Zoids. Irvine, of course, doesn't like the idea until Moonbay convinces him that maybe the Command Wolf wants this.

Thomas is looking for the lost Hammerhead when he sees someone on the ground who looks unconscious. It's Hiltz, who punches Thomas out when he tries to "help" him, and lets Ambient take control of the Dibison. Hiltz takes Thomas to the Hammerhead and then gets the President and leaves. Meanwhile, the Command Wolf's memory bank is being transplanted into the Lightning Saix. A group of Gun Snipers and a Dibison are coming towards where Rudolf is, and then open fire. The President, inside the Dibison, contacts Rudolf and tells him that the enemy's plan is to get rid of the leaders of both nations. They have no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, Van finds the lost Hammerhead and defuses a bomb in it.

The base where the Saix is is called to help out Rudolf, and Irvine gets into the Saix and takes off. The Zoid hasn't been tested yet to see if the Wolf's memory bank works, but Irvine plans to test it in real combat. Irvine pilots the Saix out to the battlefield, and manages to get the Wolf's data to work for the Saix. He easily shoots down all the Gun Snipers and avoids the Dibison's fire. Then the Dibison shoots at the ground, which blows up a lot of smoke, and tries to run off a cliff. Irvine uses the Saix's booster to get ahead of the Dibison and shoot it down before it hurt the President. Ambient ejects from the Dibison and flies back to Hiltz. Later, everyone talks about Irvine, the Lightning Saix, and the Command Wolf while Irvine and his new Zoid run in the sunset.

Episode 15. The Distant Stars

Raven and Shadow are still a big threat, so a guy who specializes in the combat analysis of the Geno Breaker is called in to help Van and the others. He's a jerk to everyone, but he does have a plan to beat the Geno Breaker. They are going to send Van, Irvine, and Thomas out in the Delta Formation to attack the Breaker and cut off the foot-lock. That way Raven won't be able to fire a charged particle beam. Then three groups of attack Zoids, including Gojulas units, also in the Delta Formation will attack and destroy the Breaker. The guy tells Van that he knew his father and also to follow his orders. Van and the others practice the formation over and over, using Moonbay's Gustav to carry a fake Geno Breaker. Fiona notices that Van has changed, and that he wants to protect everyone because he loves them.

Riece collects data on Van and the other's new strategy and confronts Raven, who hates her and wants her to leave. She has a blue Geno Saurer, and releases a mist to show a simulation of the way Van plans to beat him. Raven tries to destroy all of the simulated Zoids with charged particle beams and also tries to hit Riece, who dodges. By that time, Shadow has reached his limit, which is 180 seconds, in the Geno Saurer so he ejects, freezing the combat system. Riece and Raven both get out of their Zoids and Riece offers some Zoid magnite, but Raven refuses. He'll kill her if Shadow dies, though. Riece wants to show him the details of his sorry life and calls a swarm of her little bugs, which somehow cause Raven to lose consciousness.

Even when Raven was young, he didn't like Zoids. His parents were always busy studying Zoids and didn't have much time for him. One night Raven and his father were out on the roof of their old house talking. Raven said he didn't like Zoids, and hoped that there weren't any on their home planet, the Earth. His father promised that they could all go on a vacation when they finished studying an Organoid, and then his mother yelled that the Organoid was waking up. The father leaves, and a few moments later there are screams. Raven runs down to where his parents were, only to find them dead, probably killed by the Organoid (Ambient). Raven is knocked out by the Organoid, and Hiltz is seen watching from a dark corner of the room.

After Raven's parents were killed, he somehow ended up with Van's dad, Dan. Dan wanted to take Raven home with him, but then some Imperial troops showed up, led by Prozen. They want the Organoid that Dan's group (he was in the Republic) was working on and threaten to burn down the Wind Colony, but a guy (the same guy who specializes in the combat analysis of the Geno Breaker) tries to blow up the Organoid capsule. The Organoid (Shadow) escapes though, and Prozen leaves to try and catch it. Dan stops the Imperial troops by sacrificing himself and self-destructing his Command Wolf. Later, Raven confronts Prozen and tries to shoot him with a gun that has the safety on, and Prozen decides to call him Raven and take him in for training. Prozen has Raven in training for many years, and also gives him Shadow as a gift for doing so well. After he gets Shadow, Raven leaves to do what he wants.

Back in the present, Raven wakes up in a cave. Hiltz and Riece inform him that he is in the presence of the Dark Kaiser (who I think is Prozen). Raven refuses to obey the Dark Kaiser and leaves to go fight Van.

Episode 16. Attack of the Geno Breaker

The Blade Liger's booster is upgraded and Van thanks everyone who helped do it. Fiona gives Thomas and Irvine a device that generates a shield that can withstand an attack from a charged particle beam to install on their Zoids. Then they are told about a base, where Lightning Saix units were being built, that was destroyed. Raven did it and now he's heading for them. A guy asks Fiona to come to his office and talk with him later. Meanwhile, Hiltz, Ambient, Specular, and Riece are standing on a cliff where, according to Hiltz, the battle will take place. He and Riece talk about why Raven's Geno Breaker is red, because it should be black (Hiltz probably had Ambient fuse with Raven's old Geno Saurer to revive it, and that's why it was partly red. Thus, that's why the Geno Breaker is red; Ambient messed with the Zoid core). Hiltz says that he wants the winner of the battle (between Van and Raven).

Fiona goes and talks with the guy. He tells her that he wants the Liger's booster put back to the way it was and to take the shield generators off the Dibison and Saix because it reduces the chance of success in the Delta Formation. At first Fiona refuses, but then she is forced to agree. The guy also wants her to quit the Guardian Force and work on ancient ruins with him, but she leaves without giving an answer. Later, the Geno Breaker is almost at the base and everyone gets ready to fight Raven. Hiltz, Ambient, Riece, and Specular watch from a cliff. Shadow fuses with the Geno Breaker and the battle begins. Van, Irvine, and Thomas go into formation and attack. Irvine and Van shoot at Raven and Thomas fires a megalo max at him. Raven fires a charged particle beam at Thomas, who uses his new shield to block. He and Irvine refused to take off the shields when Fiona gave them the guys orders.

Van tries to attack Raven, but the Breaker launches a claw, grabs him, and throws him to the side. Irvine rushes in and dodges Raven's claws, then shoots at his foot-lock, but it isn't destroyed. Raven fires another charged particle beam at Irvine, who blocks with his shield. Raven flies up and Van jumps to slice off a foot-lock with his blades. The Gojulas and Command Wolf units appear and open fire, but Raven blocks with a shield. It prepares another beam while in the air (everyone makes a big deal of this). Van leaps up, but Raven catches him in one of his huge claws, then throws him down to the ground and fires the beam at him. Van manages to put up his shield just in time, but is still really damaged. Fiona wants everyone to retreat, but the guy refuses to give the order. Fiona leaves to go somewhere.

Raven fires a charged particle beam and destroys all of the Gojulas and Command Wolves. Thomas is out of ammo and Irvine is too low on energy, so they can't help anymore. Van leads Raven away from his friends to the edge of a cliff. Raven fires another beam while Van puts up his shield, his blades forward, and charges. Raven increases the power to his beam. Hiltz leaves saying that Raven's won. Van is knocked off of the cliff and Fiona flies in a Pteras overhead yelling Van's name.
