Cowboy Bebop Episode Sums

Session 7: Heavy Metal Queen

In this episode we are introduced to a women by the name of VT, who apparently is a trucker and plays a major role in this story. Spike basically is in a dinner overcoming a serious hang over he has, while Faye chases after a fugitive. Unfortunately for her she mistakes the wrong guy for the fugitive and allows the other guy to escape she basically chases after him but ends up getting her ship destroyed by him. Elsewhere, in the dinner Spike is hanging in, a couple of bounty hunters get out of line with a waitress. VT comes to her aid and battles the bounty hunters while, Spike sits and watch. Eventually though the Bounty Hunters bump into Spike and piss him off. Spike being a man of action kicks their ass and stops the goons. He then befriends VT for awhile until she learns he is a bounty hunter and looks at Spike in disgust. Spike leaves the dinner only to find that the swordfish has been dismantle by some goons. VT who is passing by sees him and offers to give him a ride on her ship, Spike ask if another one can come along this naturally is Faye. The three head off into space where they talk some more about life, eventually the two hunters bid farewell to VT. However VT decides that she is going to help them find the bounty and uses her trucker connections to track down the bounty they were after. VT is reunited with the two hunters and they begin to give chase to the bounty. However in doing so VT gets into an accident in a sattelite installation.

The bounty is dead meaning once again no money, Spike's Ship to top it off is damaged and the fugitives explosives are starting to float in the satellite meaning the complex can explode at any minute. Eventually spike gets the idea to use the swordfish to make a hole for them to escape. The plan goes into effect, VT, Spike and Faye are saved in the nick of time. At the end of the Episode Spike finds out VT's real name via the locket she is wearing and finds out that she was married to one of the most famous bounty hunters. VT gives him money for that ending the episode at that note.

*Side note* VT gives you money if you can guess her real name throughout the episode

Session 8: Waltz for Venus

In this episode Spike and Faye capture a couple of terrorist who were looking to high jack a plan, and turn them in for the cash prize. Around this same time a nervous guy named Rocco bumps into Spike and remembers him from the flight. He begs Spike to teach him how to fight, after constant pestering Spike agrees to be his teacher. However during a training session some guys chase after Rocco and he tells spike to hold his bag. Spike heads back to the bebop to find out Jet has a couple of bounties they can capture while on Venus. One of these guys is infact Rocco. Spike ask what Rocco did and learns he stole a plant that apparently can cure a disease that is found on Venus. Eventually Spike goes around Venus and meets Rocco's girlfriend who discusses about Rocco and the questionable things he does. Apparently Rocco stole the plant to allow this girl to see again, Spike also finds in her music box the seeds that can cure her blindness. Spike eventually meets up with Rocco again and manages to give him the plant back. However the reunion is interrupted when the guys from earlier attack Rocco and Spike. The two defend themselves and manage to ward off most of the goons with a little help from Faye who shows up in her ship. However their victory turns into a hollow one when Rocco gets shot from behind dropping the plant and dying. Before he dies he tells Spike how the seeds in his girlfriends music box can restore her eyesight, and how Spike and him could have been good friends if they had meet earlier he then dies.

Spike sheds a tear or two for his fallen friend and visits his girlfriend who has the operation done. Her eyesight is expected to return in a couple of days. She then ask Spike how come Rocco hasn't shown up to see her yet. Spike tells her that he is dead, she expected it and ask if he was a good person. Spike's say's yes the best of friends.

Session 9: Jammin with Edward

In this episode a bounty has been put out to find out who has been using a laser sattelite to draw on the earth. Around the same time we are introduced to a master computer hacker who is named Ed who apparently is a young girl all alone. Eventually Ed finds out that the thing responsible for the use of the sattelite really is a program. Ed hacks into the bebop ship to tell the hunters about it. They agree to cooperate with Ed only on one condition that she will name later on. Ed basically tells them that the way to stop this program is to connect a cable onto the sattelite to copy the program over. The plan goes into effect with Spike using his swordfish to get close to the ship. The plan goes into effect and Ed manages to successfully transfer over the program. However since a bounty can only be on a living thing Spike and the others don't get any money. The bebop is about to depart without Ed, Spike and Jet ask what Faye Promised her. Faye tells them that she wanted to live on the bebop. The bebop heads out but ED being the master hacker she is takes control of the bebop via her computer and gets inside. At the end of the episode Spike ask how come the three things he hates most are now living on the bebop?

*side note* Spikes three things he hates most are, dogs, children, and proud women!

Session 10: Ganymede Elegy

In this episode Jet and the crew of the bebop head out to the planet in which Jet lost the love of his life. Well the gang go after a bounty mostly Spike and Jet. While Faye and Ed do some sun bathing. Eventually Jet comes across a bar and the ex love of his life. He then learns that she is now mixed up with that bounty hunter and also why she left years ago. By the end of the episode Jet and Spike Confront the bounty they are after and attempt to escape unfortunately though the cops eventually get him and Jets ex. Jet bids farewell to the former love of his life and its back to bounty hunting.

Session 11: Toys in the Attic

In this episode a weird creature attacks Jet and makes him ill. It's up to Spike, Faye and Ed to figure out what that creature is. Unfortunately though Faye decides to take a bath and falls victim to the creatures attack. Its now up to Spike, Ein and Ed to stop this thing. Spike and Ed break up into two groups, eventually Spike comes across the creature and goes all out against it, using everything from Flame throwers to grenades. In the end though Spike gets bit by the creature however manages to throw its nesting ground the refrigerator out into space. The crew of the bebop is incompacitated at the moment for the exception of Edward.

*Side note* The episode that follows does not go into detail on how the crew recovered from the sickness

Session 12: Jupiter Jazz Part 1

In this episode Faye Valentine has apparently left the bebop to go out on her own again. To top things off Jet and Spike intercept a clue about their next bounty and how a big deal between Vicious and this guy is suppose to go down. The code word is Julia (Spike's former love interest). Spike rushes off to Jupiter in hopes of finding a clue about her whereabouts. Elsewhere at this time Faye on Jupiter meets up with a Guy who tells her how the planet lacks females and if she's not careful some guys staring at her on the bar will rape her. Faye thanks him for the advice and leaves. Also somewhere on Jupiter Jet looks for some clues as to the whereabouts of Faye but instead finds out that the bounty on that guy is really high. Eventually we find Faye walking down a narrow alley and she starts to get attacked by some thugs, once again the guy she spoke to at the bar has come to her rescue and tells her to follow him. Back at the guys apartment Faye and him discuss various things like his passion for music, and why Faye left her friends at the bebop. On the trail of Julia, Spike runs into some thugs that earlier attacked Faye. He does battle with them and manages to find out some information on the big trade Vicious is suppose to do here.

Elsewhere at this same time while resting Faye overhears the answering machine message of Vicious discussing the big drug trade that is suppose to go down. Faye gets her gun out to confront the guy she has learned to trust and makes a startling discovery in the shower that he is really a she. We learn that it is actually a side effect of some drugs the guy use to take which gave him that side effect. Elsewhere Spike catches up to Vicious and confronts him about Julia. Apparently Julia is on Jupiter, during this time an assistant of Vicious known as Ri shots Spike to protect Vicious. Is this the end of Spike?

Session 13: Jupiter Jazz Part 2

In this continuation episode Faye Valentine gets tied up by her host, while Spike is still alive apparently he was shot with a tranquilizer and not a gun once again he manages to escape death by a hair. Jet gets closer to finding Faye and ask about the whereabouts of his bounty he actually ask the same goons from the previous episode about it and all that the main boss can do is say how he has to get a clean job. Jet is confused. We also learn that the bounty really was set up by Vicious a long time ago when both were in the service. This guy now has a grudge with Vicious and is going to settle it he leaves. Jet finds the apartment where Faye is being held captive and gets filled on the details. Spike on the other hand is flying around in the swordfish hoping to get another clue as to where Vicious is hiding. The trade begins and in no time the guy double crosses Vicious with an explosive. RI saves Vicious from a bullet shot but dies in the process. Spike eventually shows up as vicious is about to run away in his ship. The bounty and the hunter team up to do a number on Vicious ship. Eventually Vicious is forced to retreat but not before destroying his former friends ship. Spike goes to his bounty prize and finds out that he is dying. As a last wish Spike sends the guy into space in his plane. With Vicious gone and also the bounty its back to life on the bebop. Where could Julia be?
